Paul Garnier was born on December 3, 2002, in Verdun, France, and received his early musical training at the conservatories in Rennes and Metz. After being accepted into the Dresden State Music High School, he joined Norbert Anger’s cello class, with whom he continued his studies at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden. In addition to the regular curriculum, he attended master classes with Peter Bruns, Marcio Carneiro, Marion Middenway, and the Kuss Quartet, among others.

Since early childhood, Paul Garnier has had a passion for Baroque music and has performed as a continuo cellist with soloists such as Isabell Schicketanz, Marie Henriette Reinhold, and Patrick Grahl.

Paul Garnier has received scholarships from the Ad Infinitum Foundation and Live Music Now. Since September 2025, he has been a cellist-in-training with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg.
